WIRTZ, Va. (WDBJ) – Republicans in western Virginia will have to wait until Saturday to see former President Donald Trump in Salem.
Wednesday night, they met Babydog in Franklin County.
West Virginia Governor and U.S. Senate candidate Jim Justice and his English Bulldog were the headliners at a Trump event in Wirtz.
Despite recent polls indicating Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris maintains a lead in Virginia, Justice argued Virginia is in play.
“And we really think we’ve got a real shot in Virginia now,” Justice told WDBJ7 in an interview. “And of all things, and everything, nobody would have probably ever thought that, but it’s real. And with all that being said, I want to try to help and get across the finish line, because I think it will change the course of this country.”
Justice and Babydog have campaigned for Donald Trump and his running mate J.D. Vance in multiple states.
Justice joked he could be classified as a Pennsylvanian, because of all the time he’s spent in the swing state during the campaign.
