BECKLEY, W.Va. – A 51-year-old from Beckley was sentenced to two to eight years for Conspiracy to Commit a Felony and Attempt to Commit a Felony.
Gregory Bishop, the Wyoming County Prosecuting Attorney, announced the sentencing in a press release, and gave details about the incident.
On May 25, Sergeant Sizemore with the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department responded to a breaking and entering complaint at the Bluestone Coal K2 Coal Preparation Plant. The investigation found the incident was an attempted theft and significant property destruction, and that the suspects left the scene in a blue truck.
Bishop said the deputy found the vehicle traveling on the highway, and a pursuit started. With the help from another deputy, the suspects were detained.
51-year-old Richard Harry Harrah III was found covered in coal dirt and mud, consistent with his participation in the crime, Bishop said.
