It’s almost time to ditch the Halloween decorations and string up some tinsel, and as such Starbucks has already unveiled part of its Christmas menu for 2024.

The coffee chain will be bringing back those signature red holiday cups very soon, and mixing up some delicious hot drinks for the season.

As well as the return of the cups, four fan-favourite beverages will be back for the festive period – including the Toffee Nut Latte, Gingerbread Latte, Caramel Waffle Latte, and Eggnog Latte.

These will be available hot, iced, or as a Frappuccino blended beverage, so there’s bound to be an option to suit all tastes.

The Toffee Nut Latte sees espresso combined with toffee nut flavour syrup and steamed milk. This drink is finished with whipped cream and toffee nut flavour sprinkles.

Similarly, the Caramel Waffle Latte, is made with caramel waffle flavour syrup and steamed milk, with whipped cream and a spiced caramel waffle crunch on top.

For Starbucks’ Gingerbread Latte, the gingerbread syrup and espresso are combined with steamed milk, before being topped with a gingerbread infused whipped cream and cinnamon. Prices for all three of these start from £4.35 for a Tall.

Finally, the Eggnog Latte – perhaps the most classic Christmas drink of them all – is made with espresso and eggnog and topped with ground nutmeg. This drink will set you back £4.40 for a Tall.

Starbucks Rewards customers can order the Christmas drinks from October 31, but everyone else will have to wait a week to get their hands on them. If you don’t want to wait, simply download the app and sign up.

The chain is also launching a brand-new cake pop for the season, shaped like a polar bear. The adorable sweet treat is made with vanilla flavour sponge, a digestive biscuit crumb, chocolate, icing and frosting.

But that’s not all, there are more food and drink surprises in store, as Starbucks will be releasing its full holiday menu in-store and on its app on November 7. So stay tuned to find out what else they’ll be whipping up.

While many coffee fans are excited about the festive changes, a few customers have realised that the swap from autumnal drinks to winter ones over the coming weeks means they’ll likely lose the ‘best drink ever’ at some point, as it’ll get axed from the menu to make way for others.

According to social media users, this top tier drink is none other than the Pumpkin Cream Iced Chai, which was introduced in the UK this year.

On Instagram, @laurechicot asked the chain ‘when will the pumpkin cream iced chai disappear’, with a crying emoji. To which @fraz_pompey proclaimed it was the ‘best drink ever’. And people on X (formerly Twitter) felt similarly about it.

@StacoD1986 rated it a ‘10/10’, and @iLoveRichaya said ‘I could really drink an iced pumpkin cream chai for the rest of my life… wow’.

@amerrill claimed the beverage ‘tastes like drinking pumpkin pie’, while others said the drink was ‘fire’, and @OppenheimAviel added that it was ‘like crack’.

A few were sad to think about the iconic PSL leaving the menu for another year as well, as @patriciaaarr begged: ‘No, no no nooo don’t take PSL away from meee.’

And some people couldn’t believe the audacity of Starbucks announcing Christmas drinks on Halloween. @keiferhoulker asked: ‘On Halloween day? Really?’ To which @itsrebekka_ replied: ‘Where is the respect?’

@coleslife_ agreed, writing: ‘You couldn’t have waited till tomorrow even? It’s literally Halloween today.’ And @kirstmcc09 posted: ‘Please let us just have Halloween.’

It’s not clear when exactly the Pumpkin Cream Iced Chai and PSL will be leaving the menu just yet. Starbucks has said the drinks are available while supplies last.

But it’s worth noting that regular Iced Chais without the pumpkin cream are available year-round at Starbucks, so you could always experiment with your order and add different creams/syrups to the mix.

The drinks chain likes to get in early with its menu changes, as many might remember from the PSL launch this year, which returned to the UK on August 8, instead of later in September.

However, this isn’t just the chain being keen, it turns out we’re actually to blame (or at least our internet habits are).

Ahead of the PSL return, Starbucks revealed that the drink’s popularity has continued to grow despite more than two decades on the market, with online searches for the drink up by 43% in just one year.

Fans began searching for the drink as early as July 23, highlighting the sheer level of anticipation for that first sip of flavoured coffee. So to meet demand, Starbucks released it earlier than ever in 2024.

And it’s not the only brand getting in the festive spirit early, as M&S already unveiled their Christmas food for this year, and tried some of the weird and wonderful items the retailer is selling.

Iceland also unveiled an entire pigs in blankets range, that was said to be ‘heaven’ for those who like a big sausage…
