Two shining light primary schools on a shared campus in Bargeddie are celebrating after they each achieved the prestigious Gold School Sport Award from sportscotland.
Staff at St Kevin’s and Bargeddie primaries have worked hard to ensure all pupils can explore and enjoy a varied range of sports and physical activities.
The schools have been successful in developing a culture of physical activity and promoting life-long health and wellbeing among the children.
The sportscotland School Sport Award is a national initiative designed to encourage schools to put young people at the heart of decision making when it comes to physical activities.
Councillor Michael McBride, convener of education, children, and families, praised all those involved in securing these national awards, saying: “This is a fantastic achievement for both St. Kevin’s and Bargeddie primary schools.
“This award reflects the hard work and dedication of the staff and students at both schools.
“This recognition from sportscotland celebrates both schools’ dedication to promoting inclusivity, teamwork, and a positive sporting culture.”
