WASHINGTON (Gray DC) – Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are racing from swing state to swing state during the final weekend of the presidential election season.
Former President Donald Trump is holding a series of rallies on Saturday and Sunday in several battleground states including North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Georgia. He is also making a stop in a state that is largely expected to be won by Vice President Harris – Virginia.
But going into the weekend, Trump has been facing a lot of backlash because of comments he made on the campaign trail on Thursday about former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY).
“She’s a radical war hawk,” said Trump. “Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, OK? Let’s see how she feels about it, you know, when the guns are trained on her face.”
Vice President Harris responded to those comments Friday, calling it violent rhetoric.
“This must be disqualifying anyone who wants to be president of the United States who uses that kind of violent rhetoric is clearly disqualified and unequaled to be president,” she said.
Harris is also spending her weekend criss crossing the swing states in North Carolina, Georgia and Michigan.
Both candidates plan to hold events in Pennsylvania on Monday, the final day of campaigning. Supporters for both Harris and Trump have been knocking on doors there to try to win over any remaining undecided voters, including Jeremy Delgado. He is a Harris supporter who decided to canvass in the swing state after the former president’s Madison Square Garden rally, when Puerto Rico was called an “island of garbage” by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe.
“He has just pissed off a group of people that… some of them were on the fence. And I gotta tell you, I’m knocking on doors. And people were telling me, hey, I was going to vote for Trump but after Tony Hinchcliffe’s remarks, I am not,” said Delgado.
