Outlander’s official Instagram page has shared a sneak peek at Jamie (played by Sam Heughan) and Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) at an iconic location and fans were thrilled.
At the end of season seven’s first eight episodes, the couple are tasked along with Young Ian Murray (John Bell) to return to Scotland for an important mission.
Season seven, part two will pick up right where the Starz drama left off, with the Frasers having spotted their first glimpse at Scottish soil for many years.
The latest trailers have revealed the iconic couple will be heading back to the Frasers’ homestead at Lallybroch for a nostalgic conclusion to the show’s latest chapter.
Recent snaps of Heughan and Balfe in costume sparked a frenzy of excitement from the show’s countless fans.
The first shot revealed the pair hand-in-hand at the entrance of the majestic Lallybroch castle, looking wistfully at the camera.
Heughan and Balfe then brought it in for a touching embrace at the castle gates, demonstrating the romance is still going strong after all these years.
With new episodes of Outlander now just weeks away, fans expressed their joy at another new taste ahead of Claire and Jamie’s epic journey finally continuing.
In the comments, one enthusiastic viewer exclaimed: “The nostalgia, my HEART. I can’t wait for the rest of season 7!!”
“These beautiful photos are making me so emotional,” another user wrote.
“I am so, so sad the series is ending. What an amazing epic love story,” someone else replied.
“They are stunning!!!” another fan expressed. “All the emotions of going back home, to Lallybroch, as well! Anxiously awaiting 11/22.”
And a final viewer admitted: “I don’t know if I can take it…..these emotions.”
While season seven, part two will begin with an emotional homecoming for the Frasers, the upcoming episodes won’t be without their fair share of turmoil.
Outlander’s next outing is set to be its most exhilarating yet after the trailer revealed a devastating twist that separates Claire and Jamie yet again.
As Claire is left stricken over her husband’s fate after a terrible accident, her daughter Brianna (Sophie Skelton) is similarly rapt with worry when Roger (Richard Rankin) is forced to go back in time again.
It’s all leading up to a climactic eighth season which will bring the Fraser story to an epic conclusion next year.
Outlander season seven part two premieres on Friday, November 22, on MGM+ via Prime Video in the UK and on Starz in the US.
