Congratulations are in order for Margot Robbie, who has reportedly given birth to her first child!
The Barbie actress, 34, is believed to have welcomed a baby boy with her husband of eight years, Tom Ackerley.
As first reported by the Mail on Sunday and with sources later confirming to People, Margot went into labour two weeks before her due date.
However, the outlets assure that ‘all is well’ with the new mum.
It’s also believed Tom’s overjoyed parents are preparing to fly to Los Angeles to meet their grandchild.
This will be the 12th grandchild for Margot’s in-laws, who still reside in Surrey, where Tom was raised.
Close friends and relatives have kept schtum on the couple’s baby news since their son arrived on October 17 to protect their privacy at this precious time.
The confirmation comes just days after Tom, also 34, was spotted carrying a box of eco-friendly nappies from Coterie.
Outside their home in Venice Beach, the English film producer was also seen with a box of cigars and a bottle of wine.
Meanwhile, Margot hasn’t been photographed since October 13 when she left a studio in LA, bump on full display.
The Aussie star has kept busy throughout her pregnancy, having made various public appearances. Her last was on September 9 at a screening of My Old Ass, a movie produced by both her and Tom.
However, sources claimed to People magazine that she took time off to put her feet up in recent weeks while getting ready for their baby’s arrival.
‘Margot absolutely can’t wait to be a mum,’ said an insider.
The source added that she and Tom have ‘wanted to be parents for a really long time and are so happy.’
The Suicide Squad star’s pregnancy was first revealed in July while she and Tom holidayed to Lake Como.
Her blossoming bump instantly made headlines as she wore a crop top.
Margot and Tom have been married since 2016.
They first met in 2013 on the set of the World War II drama Suite Française, where he was an assistant director and she starred as Celine.
They tied the knot in December three years later during an intimate ceremony in Australia’s Byron Bay.
With Margot not having a social media presence, the film stars keep much of their relationship out of the public eye.
Sometimes, though, they do give us an insight into their home life, with Tom telling The Sunday Times earlier this year: ‘[We spend] 24 hours a day [together].’
Asked how they balance their work and private life, he said: ‘It’s seamless. We don’t have a toggle on, toggle off. It’s all become one thing.’
In 2016, Margot got all gushy as she said she ‘was always in love’ with Tom, even when they were friends.
She added to Vogue: ‘But I thought, “Oh, he would never love me back. Don’t make it weird, Margot. Don’t be stupid and tell him that you like him.”
‘And then it happened, and I was like, “Of course we’re together. This makes so much sense, the way nothing has ever made sense before”.’
