Man Utd 1-1 Chelsea as it happened: Moises Caicedo stunner cancels out Bruno Fernandes penalty

Speaking at full-time, the former United captain told Sky Sports: ‘Ruben Amorim should have signed a longer contract. There’s a long way back for this team. This is an average United team, all the stats back it up.

‘We are repeating ourselves, we don’t know what we are going to get from them – it’s hit and miss. This United team, boring, might be a bit strong. At the end, it was a bit more open, but really disappointed – it was so flat. From the manager’s point of view, this team is way off it.

‘A really disappointing performance. United are a bit average at everything and they are not special. The lack of goals is hard to believe.

And another huge chance for UNited but it’s blazed over by Fernandes. The United captain tries to find a teammate but the ball bounces back to him favourably on the edge of the box.

The Portuguese midfielder perhaps sees his name in the lights and lashes at it too vigorously, sending it flying into the stand behind the goal.

CHANCE! Another opportunity falls at the feet of Garnacho but the Argentine can’t quite keep it under the crossbar as he slices across it with his right foot.

Palmer tries to find a Chelsea player with a low ball into a crowded box but Onana gets down well to claim the ball.

Lindelof appears to have slotted into midfield alongside Casemiro, while the other replacement Zirkzee has a good chance after a flicked pass from Fernandes.

The Dutchman, though, can’t make the most of it and Chelsea clear before winning a free-kick which sees Casemiro shown a booking.

A double change for the hosts as Zirkzee and Lindelof are introduced with Hojlund and Ugarte making way.

Around ten minutes to go at Old Trafford – will we see a late winner from either side?

Garnacho has room on the left side but drags his effort wide of the post. United do win a corner, though, but Sanchez does well to punch Fernandes’ eventual cross clear.

CHANCE! Onana is off his line and Fernandez has a great chance when the ball is played back to him by Jackson. But the Argentine can’t apply the finish as the ball floats over the bar.

Chelsea are level!

Out of nowhere the home side equalise and what a finish that is from Caicedo. The corner is only cleared as far as the Ecudorian but it’s a sweet strike from the edge of the area which flies into the bottom corner past Onana.

A wonderful finish that sets us up for a cracking finish at Old Trafford.

A change follows for United, too, as Rashford is replaced by Amad for the closing stages.

A double change for Chelsea in response to that goal as Fernandez and Mudryk come on for Lavia and Madueke.
