The Lincoln Lawyer season three is ready to watch with fan-favourite Becki Newton once again starring in the Netflix hit.
Season three premiered on the streaming service last month with Mickey Haller’s (played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) second ex-wife and office manager Lorna Crane portrayed by actress Becki Newton.
With talks of a possible fourth season on the way, Netflix subscribers cannot help but be curious about the 46-year-old’s life away from the cameras.
Early start
Originally from Guilford, Connecticut, Newton has been acting since she was 13, performing in local productions and summer stock theatre before graduating from the University of Pennsylvania.
It was then in 2000 that she moved to New York to pursue a career on Broadway and got numerous roles in national adverts.
Newton then made the switch to television, making guest appearances on series such as Law and Order SVU, American Dreams and Cold Case.
She landed her first major regular series role, however, in 2006, in the ABC hit comedy-drama Ugly Betty as Amanda Tanen which she starred in for four years.
Famous family
Newton is married to Canadian actor Chris Diamantopoulos who is probably best known for playing Russ Hannerman in HBO’s Silicon Valley.
Their romance began when they had a chance encounter at the Times Square subway station when he cheekily invited her to his performance of The Full Monty.
She told New York Magazine: “It could have been creepy but it was so cute!”
They went on to marry in 2005 and share four children together, with their youngest daughter born in 2022.
Newton’s husband isn’t the only other famous face in the family either as her first cousin once removed is none other than American Sniper star Sienna Miller.
She is also known for Layer Cake, Alfie, Stardust, The Edge Of Love and Netflix’s Anatomy Of A Scandal.
Speaking to People about their familial connection in 2015, Newton said: “I didn’t find out until a few years ago that her dad is my grandmother’s brother.
“She grew up in the UK so she was never at any of our family functions.”
How I Met Your Mother
As well as Ugly Betty and The Lincoln Lawyer, Newton famously portrayed Quinn, Barney Stinson’s (Neil Patrick Harris) love interest in the hit comedy How I Met Your Mother.
But rather than wait to audition for a role, Newton actually pitched the idea of her being introduced to the creators.
She explained to TV Guide: “I was watching the show and I thought to myself, ‘I would love to play a female version of Barney. And more than that, I would love to play off Neil Patrick Harris.’
“I think they’d been toying with the idea of a love interest for Barney, so it was a great coincidence that I went in and pitched myself for it.
“I told them my dream and I’m so grateful that they didn’t think I was totally insane! And a few months later, it all came true and now I’m Quinn.”
The Lincoln Lawyer is available to watch on Netflix.
