Stephen Robinson admitted it was a case of two points dropped after St Mirren drew a blank against Ross County.
The Buddies completed their SMiSA Stadium Premiership double-header with four points from a possible six. It could have been so much better had Greg Kiltie not seen a first-half penalty saved with other chances going begging.
And boss Robbo was frustrated his side couldn’t deliver the winning moment on Saturday following a 3-1 triumph at home to St Johnstone.
“We feel it’s an opportunity missed,” he said. “We wanted six points and we feel after the chances created…we’ve played a lot better than that and lost games.
“Ross County looked like they came in for a draw. We’ll take the point but we feel we should have had six. We’ve had enough opportunities to do that.
“I feel that, if the penalty goes in, it changes the game because Ross County have to come out and be a little bit braver and leave open spaces behind them.
“We remain unbeaten which is the positive to take out of it, so there are pleasing aspects but, ultimately, maybe two points lost.”
Robbo confirmed Kiltie was on spot-kick duty in place of skipper Mark O’Hara and joked that he might have to start taking them himself.
“It was something we discussed,” he added. “Mark’s obviously missed a couple of penalties. Greg or anybody who steps up to take a penalty, let me be very clear – I have no criticism of anybody who’s brave enough to do it.
“It’s a pressure situation. It’s a little bit of a lottery and now I might be taking them next week.
“We’ll have to have a look and see who is stepping up. Marcus Fraser is excellent at them so I might just have to go the more defensive route and do that.
“But things happen. You miss penalties. That wasn’t the reason we didn’t win.”
