WYTHE COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) – Burger Express in Max Meadows was destroyed in a fire Wednesday, October 30.

Max Meadows Volunteer Fire Department responded at 4 p.m. to reports of a structure fire. Crews found the single-story structure heavily involved, according to firefighters.

Firefighters say aggressive attack was started with multiple lines, and all occupants were out of the restaurant.

The restaurant was deemed a total loss, and the cause of the fire was undetermined, according to firefighters.

No injuries were reported in the fire.

Wytheville Fire & Rescue Department and Ivanhoe Volunteer Fire Department assisted with the call.

Burger Express staff released the following statement,

“Most people know, but we faced an unimaginable loss as our beloved restaurant was consumed by fire. We are incredibly grateful to the brave firefighters who responded swiftly and to everyone who reached out with calls, prayers, and unwavering support. Your kindness has been our strength in this difficult moment. Though our doors may be closed for now, our hearts remain open, and we’re determined to rebuild. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for standing with us.”
