WASHINGTON (Gray DC) – With just one day left until Election Day, Vice President Kamala Harris is spending her final full day on the campaign trail in the battleground state of Pennsylvania.
After just three and a half months of campaigning across the country, Vice President Kamala Harris is ending her presidential campaign in the battleground state of Pennsylvania with a message of unit. Tens of millions of dollars have been spent by the Harris Campaign on commercials and on travel – in each of the seven swing states. Those states are Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Nevada. Now, the campaign is focusing on the ground game. Jacob Rubashkin of Inside Elections says the goal is getting voters to the polls and casting their ballots.
“And so it’s incumbent on the campaigns to make sure that every possible supporter that they have is actually going out and casting a ballot. And the campaign spent a lot of money and energy and manpower on making sure that happens, especially now that early voting and absentee voting has so greatly expanded.”
Jacob Rubashkin of Inside Elections says the Harris Campaign is closing with a message of unity while simultaneously trying to extend their advantage with women voters.
“There are more women in this country than there are men, and women vote at a slightly greater rate. So if you had to choose whether you wanted to do really well with women are really well with men, the numbers would suggest you’d probably want to do better with women.”
A big unknown going into election night is how will Nikki Haley supporters vote. Haley garnered a significant percentage of the vote in the Republican primaries. And Harris has been working hard for the past 100 days reaching out to those voters – hoping to get their support in what is expected to be a very close election. The Harris Walz campaign is so focused on Pennsylvania, a last minute get-out-the-vote event for Tuesday morning in the state capital, Harrisburg.
