BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (WPTA) – A 5-year-old girl in Florida was accidentally run over by her aunt and killed on Halloween night.
Maeva Luz Gracien tried to get into her aunt’s car when she tripped. Police said the aunt was unaware that she fell and began to drive.
Maeva was run over and suffered fatal injuries.
“I’m suffering a lot. I feel like my heart has been ripped out. The pain is too much. People who are mothers will understand my feelings,” her mother Edmise Jazil said in a statement.
“I’m sleeping waiting for my daughter to come in today, she doesn’t’ come in. I just want to tell her I love her. How I miss her.”
Jazil said her daughter loved everyone and enjoyed math, adding that she was an intelligent girl.
“She is the princess of the whole family,” Jazil said.
She wants her daughter to be remembered as bright, loving and full of joy.
Jazil added the following message for her daughter:
“Dear Maeva, I want to tell you that you left with Mommy’s heart, my dear. I want to let you know that I love you, I need you and I will always love you, whether you are here or not.”
A parent from her school created a GoFundMe to help the family with funeral expenses.
