Delighted Noel Gallagher Hooped up Celtic’s glory night as their Champions League masterclass rescued him from a nightmare in Lisbon.
The Oasis legend was on commentary duty for Manchester City’s 4-1 pasting against Sporting as Manchester United boss-to-be Ruben Amorim showed Pep Guardiola what he is all about. Gallagher was a glum figure as he couldn’t believe what he was watching. Thankfully for him, though, half a world away news of Brendan Rodgers’ side rocking Leipzig’s world cheered him up.
And his joy came as he sat alongside Rangers legend Ally McCoist and a stream of punters noted how much he loved hearing about Celtic’s win, which was a stark contrast to City’s disaster in Lisbon. But Gallagher is certain Guardiola will find the solutions as City’s season threatens to hit the skids. Speaking on TNT Sports, he said: “We’ve won four leagues in a row, we’re going to ride this out and we’ll be there at the end.”
