Austin ISD asked voters to approve a tax rate bump to increase funding for the district.

AUSTIN, Texas — Among the many ballot propositions and other races on Tuesday’s ballot is a Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE) for Austin ISD.

The district asked voters to approve a $0.95 tax rate per $100 valuation for the current year. According to AISD, if approved, a homeowner with an average value home in Austin would see a monthly increase of about $34 in district property taxes, or around $412 per year.
