The Lincoln Lawyer actor Angus Sampson looked very different near the start of his career when compared to his modern-day biker look.

Season three of The Lincoln Lawyer dropped on Netflix last month, picking up from where it left with Mickey Haller (played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) defending Lisa Trammell (Lana Parrilla) who’s accused of murder.

As always, his team is on hand to assist Mickey away from the courtroom in winning the case, including private investigator Cisco Wojciechowski (played by Angus Sampson).

He also has a personal tie to Mickey away from work as he went on to marry the lawyer’s second wife Lorna Crane (Becki Newton) in the second season of The Lincoln Lawyer.

With subscribers enjoying the drama’s return, fans cannot help but take a closer look at the stars away from the show, with many surprised with how actor Sampson used to look.

In the hit Netflix show, the 45-year-old Australian actor and filmmaker rocks a cool look with his biker leather jacket, long straggly hair and full-on beard.

But photographs have since resurfaced of the star from the early days of Sampson’s career when he looked very different.

Making an appearance for the opening night of the 20th St Kilda Film Festival in 2003, the actor’s hair was noticeably shorter and curlier underneath a bucket hat.

There was also no sign of his beard with just some subtle stubble in its place as he attended the event.

Then, in another set of images from a couple of years later at the Melbourne International Film Festival, he looks very different once again.

This time with his hair even shorter and straighter, wearing a pin-striped suit and with an ex-girlfriend on his arm.

Based on the book series by author Michael Connelly, while the plots and characters are fictional, they are inspired by real people and Sampson got the chance to meet the man who inspired Cisco although the pair don’t look alike.

Speaking to Boston Herald, he said: “He was very complimentary and kind as to my performance portraying him. But I must admit I was a little embarrassed that he was there.

“I was like, I hope he doesn’t think I’m not doing a service.

“I think I’m a good seven or eight inches taller and I’m about three times as wide.”

The Lincoln Lawyer is available to watch on Netflix.
