Donald Trump has gone early and declared victory in the US Election to his closest supporters at a campaign party in Florida, with the win now almost certain.
The former President has claimed scores of states that polls did not anticipate he would win, leaving his backers jubilant as he seems set for an unprecedented win over Democratic challenger Kamala Harris today. Those in attendance, including Elon Musk and Nigel Farage, started celebrating early on, hours before the most vital battlegrounds -and later the presidency – were called.
As reported by the Mirror, excitement erupted into full-blown cheers and applause when it was announced that Florida had been called for Trump. The State’s result was expected by many, however its substantial number of electoral votes – 30 this year – gave Trump supporters an early boost, confident in the hope that it would provide for a possible win.
Many attendees remarked on how Trump’s focus on Florida’s economy and his appeal to retirees had helped boost the number. Senator Rick Scott retained his Senate seat in another Republican win, further underscoring the party’s hold in Florida. As more supporters arrived, the room filled with chants of “Four more years” and “U-S-A”, with the confidence in the air undeniable.
Florida’s early results were a promising start for those gathered in West Palm Beach, bolstering hopes that a newly red-leaning Florida might help push Trump toward a national win. The crowd’s energy continued to surge overnight as the results appeared increasingly favourable, with supporters filling the massive room in Mar-a-Lago, and with each new vote update flashing on the large screens above, their excitement grows.
The centre erupted in thunderous applause and cheers when news broke that former President Trump had narrowed the gap in Pennsylvania. The state is a key battleground comes with 19 electoral votes, and was considered a battleground that either Mr Trump or Ms Harris could scoop, and one that would give them a clear path to winning.
The scene ultimately ended up resembling one of Trump’s high-energy rallies, with supporters waving American flags and holding up signs that read, “Trump Won’t Back Down” and “Four More Years.” With Trump yet to make an appearance, groups of attendees later started huddling together and analysing election numbers while sharing updates.
Conversations started buzzing with optimistic speculation about Georgia and North Carolina voting in favour of Donald Trump. The Republican’s core supporters, a mix of longtime loyalists and new converts energised by his policies, have brimmed with enthusiasm for much of the night.
