Clyde boss Darren Young admits his home dug-out debut was a rollercoaster, and doesn’t care how they get a win, as long as they do.
The new gaffer picked up his first league point in a 2-2 draw with Bonnyrigg Rose on Saturday.
Rose went a goal up through Cameron Ross in just 25 seconds and, after Jordan Allan levelled in 24 minutes, Ross added his second of the game with three minutes left.
That came despite goalkeeper Paddy Martin being red-carded 10 minutes into the second half for clattering Jordan Allan as he raced through on goal, with Callum Connolly sacrificed as back-up keeper Tom Ritchie was pitched in.
Clyde finally got their leveller through Marley Redfern two minutes into stoppage time, earning Young a second successive draw since taking the reins at the Bully Wee.
That leaves Clyde bottom of League Two, with just one win in 11 games, as they head to Edinburgh City on Saturday, knowing victory would draw them level on points with their sixth-placed hosts.
Young said: “It’s now about getting that win, three points on the board, and it doesn’t matter how you get it, just get it over the line and do it.
“I think we had a lot of missed opportunities, a couple of good balls into the box, especially in the second half, and Martin Rennie has hit the post.
“They’ve defended their box well, and there are a lot of positives, but at the same time, we need to cut out the silly mistakes, because they’re going to cost us.
“We were a couple of minutes away from getting another defeat, which is nowhere near good enough, especially with them being down to 10 men.”
Young added: “It was a bit of a rollercoaster. I think 15 seconds in we were 1-0 down and again it was a really poor mistake.
“We got a good reaction after that though, got ourselves back in the game, and in the first half I felt we started to cause them a few problems.
“But the final ball, the final third, it wasn’t really happening. Maybe it’s a confidence thing.
“It’s frustrating, because they’re better than what they’re showing.”
Clyde have more draws than any other team in the division with six, as they head to Meadowbank to face a side that beat Forfar 2-0 at the weekend.
Young said: “Edinburgh are playing well, they got another victory on Saturday, but at the same time I don’t think there’s too much between most of the teams in the league, going from the top all the way to the bottom.
“It’s small margins that can cost you or get you over the line.”
