Donald Trump has triumphed in the US election today (November 6), claiming victory over Kamala Harris.
Speaking at a campaign event in Florida, the Republican heralded the dawn of “a new golden age for America”.
The announcement has sparked jubilation among Donald Trump‘s supporters, with many revelling in what they see as a historic political resurgence.
Amidst the celebrations, a TikTok influencer has taken to the platform to express her views on why she believes America is fortunate to have Trump, aged 78, as their president. Katie Signmond, known by her TikTok username @katiessigmond, shared a video with her substantial following of 7.2 million, throwing her support behind Trump.
In her post, she is seen lip-syncing to Zach Bryan song ’28’, featuring the lyrics, “How lucky are we/ It’s been a hell of a week, but you’re all grown now.”
She also added overlay text stating: “How lucky are we to have a man who’s doing everything he can to protect our country when he has the money and success to never work again.”
Forbes reports that the New York-born Trump boasts an impressive fortune of $8 billion (£6.2 billion), a figure that reportedly doubled last month, catapulting him to the status of the 357th-wealthiest person globally.
Katie’s viral post, which garnered over 273,000 likes, resonated with many viewers. One commenter expressed their admiration, saying: “I love you for this. Being so open despite the fame.” Another added: “You earned so much respect from me,” while a third chimed in: “So nice to see people on this app with more than a single brain cell. Trump 2024.”
Not everyone agreed with her stance though, as one critic blasted: “A women supporting project 2025 is insane,” and another dismissively commented: “Oh brother.”
Trump’s triumph at the polls positions him to be the first ex-president to make a comeback to the White House after more than a century. Addressing his followers in West Palm Beach on Wednesday morning, he declared: “This will truly be the golden age of America – that’s what we have to have.
“This is a magnificent victory for the American people that will allow us to make America great again.”
Trump’s policies on the economy are believed to have swayed many US voters, amidst widespread discontent over soaring food and housing prices.
Among the 20 key pledges listed on his campaign website is a commitment to “end inflation and make America affordable again”. He has also outlined plans for sweeping tax reductions and intends to introduce new tariffs of 10-20% on the majority of imported goods.
Furthermore, Trump has pledged to take a hard line on immigration and advocates for the US to extricate itself from global conflicts.
