A Cambuslang school held its very own pumpkin picking day to allow as many children as possible to enjoy the experience.
It was the first time that Cairns Primary had held a Pumpkin Patch event, which was accessible for all with tickets priced at just £1 which included choosing a pumpkin to take home.
The Pumpkin Patch was well-attended and fun for the whole family. It was a spooktacular way to end the month of October following weeks of parental engagement workshops at the school in Ivybank Avenue.
Parents and children alike took part in a Halloween Scavenger Hunt and helped judge a scarecrow competition.
Miss McMenemy, acting Principal Teacher at Cairns Primary, said: “While the cost of living is continuing to rise, we are more aware of the cost of the school day.
“This was the perfect opportunity for us to provide an event to all of our families at a low cost and give everyone the experience of visiting a pumpkin patch in the month of October.
“The feedback from pupils, parents and staff has been brilliant. This event will hopefully become a Cairns Primary tradition.”
