Ex Rangers midfielder John Lundstram has been savaged by Turkish legend and former international midfielder Sergen Yalcin for his displays for Trabzonspor.
Lundstram quit Ibrox on a free in the summer after three years in the Scottish Premiership with Rangers and moved to Turkey, where he’s played 10 league games for his new club – starting five of them. But Trabzonspor are struggling in 11th place in the Turkish League and have been heavily criticised.
And TV pundit Yalcin – who played for Istanbul’s three main clubs of Galatasaray, Besiktas and Fenerbahce and featured in five major tournaments for Turkey before later going on to manage Besiktas – singled out 30-year-old Lundstram for criticism.
He said: “Trabzonspor has a player John Lundstram. He is a flat midfielder who offers absolutely nothing. He’s not alone because they have many players like that.
“He does not provide any contribution to the team, he does not make any difference to the team at all. He is not good enough for Trabzonspor. This is a team who were supposed to be going for the title. They are full of players who are not good enough to do that.”
