A woman has tragically died in hospital days after she was stuck by a car on a Scots road.
Emergency crews raced to the a crash involving a female pedestrian and an orange Mitsubishi L200 pick up on Farmeloan Road, Rutherglen around 8pm on Saturday, November 2.
The pedestrian, 40-year-old Victoria Cairns from Glasgow, was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Police have confirmed that Victoria sadly passed away on Wednesday, November 6.
The 33-year-old male driver of the pick up was arrested in connection with road traffic offences. He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, November 4.
Officers say that enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances of the fatal smash.
Sergeant Andrew Coutts said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman at this difficult time. They have asked that their privacy is respected.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and I would again ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have dash-cam footage, and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us as soon as possible.”
