Outlander fans are gearing up for the release of season seven part two by returning to their favourite episodes of the cherished historical fantasy drama.

Set to hit Starz in just two weeks’ time, the epic adventure will pick up with Claire (played by Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) finally back in Scotland.

Their whirlwind romance has captivated audiences over the years, though it’s not been without its fair share of challenges.

However, even when Claire and Jamie manage to get some quiet moments alone together, some viewers clearly aren’t happy with a rather repetitive detail.

One conflicted fan recently took to Reddit to air their grievances with one particularly cloying sign of affection.

Claire and Jamie have been touching foreheads for seven seasons

“The dumbest thing is driving me crazy on the show,” they started the post.

“Frequent repeat watchers might get ruined by this silly thing. The forehead touching!

“They do it so much. I’m starting to notice the music repeats that are not quite so egregious, but they do love to forehead touch.”

Although, they did concede: “But my cat does it really well, so now I feel like I’m in on it.”

This sparked a huge debate in the comments and, unfortunately for this fan, not many were in agreement.

“I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the forehead touch!!” someone replied. “It is so loving and intimate without being sexual. (Not that I have a problem with them being sexual.)

“To me, it shows that they are entirely focused on and in touch with each other, regardless of what may be going on around them or in their lives.”

And another defended the move: “That is their signature touch. As well as Claire stroking Jamie’s cheek.”

“Oh I LOVE the forehead touch! It’s so sweet,” a third replied.

Are fans getting tired of the romance?

And a final fan shot back: “So a long married couple needs to invent a new way to show intimacy every episode, so as not to ruin the show for you?”

Claire and Jamie’s sensational saga clearly has plenty of passionate defenders ready to fight in their corner.

Fan fervour will surely only increase as the weeks go on as another staggering Outlander chapter continues throughout the winter months.

The next season will undoubtedly culminate in another jaw-dropping finale that will lead into the eighth and final season.

Moreover, the Fraser saga isn’t on its last legs just yet as Starz is busy working on a prequel series which will reveal the origins of Claire and Jamie’s parents, Outlander: Blood of My Blood.

Outlander season seven part two premieres on Friday, November 22, on MGM+ via Prime Video in the UK and on Starz in the US.
