Strictly Come Dancing’s Wynne Evans and Katya Jones have been dealt a devastating blow just hours before Saturday’s live show.
One celebrity duo is set to depart on Sunday – and the bookies’ latest odds suggest it could be curtains for the singer and his professional partner.
Wynne has been given odds of 7/4 of being sent packing alongside Shayne Ward, who is also in jeopardy of leaving the competition.
Betway spokesperson Mike Reading said: “The battle for Blackpool is really heating up, and this week, punters think Shayne Ward and Wynne Evans have their work cut out if they want to perform at the iconic Tower Ballroom!
“Shayne faces a tough challenge with the Rumba and is the even-money favourite to be eliminated on Sunday evening,” reports Wales Online.
On the topic of potential winners, Mike added: “Meanwhile, Chris McCausland remains the odds-on favourite to win the show, but Miranda star Sarah Hadland wowed both judges and viewers with her performance last weekend. We’ve slashed her odds to 9/4, making her a strong contender to take home the Glitterball Trophy.”
Last weekend, Sam Quek and Nikita Kuzmin faced the dance-off, along with Johannes Radebe and Montell Douglas.
Yet, after a second performance, the judges chose to save Montell, resulting in Sam’s departure.
Reflecting on her Strictly journey with host Tess Daly, a disheartened Sam shared: “I’m gutted, I just want to say thank you. I’ve learned so much.
“Strictly has just brought that spring in my step back. It’s just been an absolute joy. Nikita, you’ve been key in helping me find that inner Sam that was there, who went a little bit quiet for maybe one or two years and has just come back. I’m gutted because I do feel like I still have more to give.”
Nikita expressed his admiration, saying: “I’m just in awe of this girl. Sometimes, they say it’s about the journey, not the destination, but to me, it’s about the company. Sam, you are the most wonderful company I could have had.”
Sam reflected on their bond: “I’m guilty of watching the competition and thinking, ‘How do they have that relationship as a celebrity and a dancer? ‘ All I can say is the time you spend with each other and what you bring out in each other. It really is, and it sounds dead cheesy, magical.”
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday at 6.35pm on BBC One.
