MAFS UK viewers have been desperate to solve the mystery of the cut-in-half photo on MAFS UK groom Luke Debono’s fridge, which led to a major fallout with his wife.
During homestays week, bride Amy Kenyon noticed a cropped picture of her husband on the appliance. Upon closer examination, she discovered that the photo had been physically severed, sparking a row between them after Luke’s initial claim that he hadn’t cut it.
Defending his hasty snipping, he maintained that he didn’t want his wife to see an image of him with another woman when she visited his home for the first time.
The photo piqued the curiosity of fans of the reality series, with many eager to uncover details about the photo and the girl who was on the other side of it.
The complete photo has been making rounds on social media, prompting Nicole Carter, the woman in the picture, to clarify things on TikTok.
In her video titled ‘The GIRL on the fridge speaks out’, she expressed her surprise at seeing the photo become popular online and her annoyance that it captured her “half speaking”. She showed two versions of the image in the video, both similar but with her posing slightly differently, reports the Mirror.
“So a picture of me is going round on TikTok with Luke from Married at First Sight,” she said. “Um, I am like, so shocked.”
“I got sent it from friends and I was like ‘What the hell is this?’. A photo of me has gone viral and also, it’s not the best of me. I was half speaking so I’m going to put on another one where Luke looks the same and I’m smiling. I feel like it’s just a nicer photo, but yeah, even though I was cropped out of the other one.”
She added: “I’m still a bit shocked that I’m just seeing my face on TikTok randomly but yeah do feel free to have a little look at this other photo because I think it’s so much nicer and I wish this was the one that went viral instead.”
Viewers clamouring for more info bombarded her with questions. “But where was it taken. What was going on. Did you date? ” one demanded, while another commented: “But we want the goss on Luke!”
Nicole refrained from revealing the full backstory of the picture in her clip, though it’s known that both she and groom Luke share professional ties with the Black Birdcage Agency, which supplies performers for various events. Luke himself confirmed that their meeting occurred during a work function.
