Scotland’s “top entertainment destination” has announced a new ‘Christmas Cottage’ attraction this festive season.

XSite is a modern entertainment hub situated in the Braehead Shopping Centre in Renfrew, just outside of Glasgow. It features laser games, a climbing wall, bowling alleys, and a cinema, as well as a range of food and drink venues.

Starting November 12, visitors to XSite will be able to enjoy a festive walk-through experience. The Christmas Cottage will include Santa’s throne and a cosy fireplace as central features, with space to take holiday photographs.

Meanwhile, in the weeks leading up to Christmas Day, XSite will be hosting a lineup of other free festive family activities. According to organisers, these have been “designed to delight local families and get everyone into the festive spirit”.

The entertainment centre will be hosting a special Elf School for younger visitors on December 14, 15, 21, and 22. The experience will include Christmas-themed crafts, colouring packs, and festive temporary tattoos.

Children will also have the chance to make their very own reindeer food to take home, with friendly elves on hand to guide them every step of the way. Elsewhere, there will be an on-site sleigh to bestow surprise free gifts on a few lucky visitors.

After Elf School, families can head to XSite’s various food and drink outlets to refuel. Among the eateries featured are Nando’s, TGI Fridays, China Buffet King, and Five Guys.

Centre Manager at XSite Bruce Harley commented: “We’re thrilled to bring the holiday magic to XSite with our Christmas Cottage and free family activities. Helping local families to celebrate the build-up to Christmas is really important to us and we can’t wait to welcome everyone to get into the Christmas spirit with us!”

More information about the Christmas Cottage can be found on the XSite website.
