A proud Scotsman whose social media is dedicated to the exploration of his homeland has revealed the location of a “Highland paradise”.

Chris Lawlor, who shares his adventures with his 145,000 TikTok followers, captured footage of the idyllic surroundings as he set out on foot to reach the beach. “Did you know that in Scotland there is a remote beach with Highland cows where the turquoise waters meet the white sands looking on to the Atlantic Ocean?” he asked.

He went on to explain that in order reach this “paradise”, you’ll have to travel 12 miles down a single track road that provides “breath-taking scenery” along the way, “before passing a castle and Highland cows”. Chris wandered down the track past the cattle as the coastline came into shot.

Arriving at the beach to relax, Chris explained that a small camp site and facilities have been set up at the location, whilst there is a three-hour walk from the car park, which is detailed on the Walk Highlands web site.

The destination? “This is called Hushinish Beach on the Isle of Harris,” Chris confirmed, offering an aerial shot of the stunning landscape. He closed by making a plea to potential visitors: “Please be courteous of other drivers when travelling down the road, and respect these areas.”

Clearly inspired, one TikTok user declared in response: “I need to go there! International travel, Highland cows, beach, turquoise water… these are a few of my favourite things!” Another person added: “Beautiful, on my bucket list. And it’s adorable that you said 12 miles like it’s quite a distance.”

A third revealed plans to visit having watched Chris’ clip: “I spent almost 3 months in Scotland last year. A portion of my trip was cancelled and I never got to the Highlands. I’m going back for that. And now I’ll add this. Thank you.”

Whilst a fourth is also plotting a trip: “Harris and Lewis are definitely on my list for my next trip back to the West Highlands. Thanks for the gorgeous video!”

According to Visit Scotland, the Isle of Harris along with neighbouring Isle of Lewis form the main island in the Outer Hebrides. “With dramatic landscapes, a unique Gaelic culture and fascinating history, Lewis and Harris are a great place to start your Hebridean adventure,” the web site adds.

“You will be blown away by wild mountains, immense white beaches, rugged coastlines and lunar landscapes. It’s little surprise that National Geographic has hailed the Outer Hebrides as one of the ‘Best of the World’ destinations for travellers in 2025.”
