The Lincoln Lawyer has returned for its third outing with all of its main stars, including actress Neve Campbell, back for more drama in and out of the courtroom.
Season three of the hit Netflix legal drama made its debut last month, concluding with an unexpected cliffhanger which could see Mickey Haller (played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) in a lot of trouble.
Even though the show hasn’t yet been confirmed for a fourth series, subscribers are hoping there will be plenty more to come given its ending.
For now, many are instead turning their attention to The Lincoln Lawyer cast, with Maggie actress Neve Campbell’s life at the forefront of their minds.
Early life
Born in Guelph, Ontario, in October 1973, Campbell was the daughter of a Scottish drama teacher and a Dutch yoga instructor and psychologist.
They divorced when she was just two-years-old and grew up with her older brother Christmas in Mississauga, Ontario with their dad.
Her paternal grandparents ran a theatre company while her paternal grandparents were performers so it didn’t come as too much of a surprise when she applied for and was accepted by the National Ballet School of Canada aged nine.
Injuries
Campbell may have initially been heading for a career in ballet but this became increasingly more difficult following hip problems which affected her knees, back and more.
She went on to drop out of the National Ballet of Canada when she was 14 due to the challenges that the star found herself facing at such a young age.
Campbell told People: “I had just been having some mental challenges, just difficult to find the balance between wanting a childhood and following this dream.
“I had had already quite a bit of injury. From nine-years-old, at the National Ballet School, I was in physiotherapy weekly.”
Stalkers
Apart from The Lincoln Lawyer, Campbell has been in House Of Cards, Catwalk, Party Of Five, Grey’s Anatomy, The Philanthropist and Manhattan, just to name some of her work.
Of course, she is probably best recognised for starring in the iconic horror franchise Scream which began in 1996, portraying Sidney Prescott.
While the slasher movies helped to propel her career, her appearance in the films also led to the 51-year-old being stalked, using these “personal experiences” to help with her acting.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly in 2000, she shared: “I have several people who write me letters nonstop, and I’ve had threats.
“I feel sad for people who make it their motive in life to stalk someone, and they’re obviously obsessive and disturbed and don’t have a life of their own, but it’s also terrifying for us.
“It was a very strange experience the first time it happened to me, to be in my house and fearing that this person will find me.
“I feel like I never made the choice to be famous, but I did make the choice to entertain people, and that’s a pretty loving thing, and out of that comes people who want to harm you.”
Marriages and relationships
The Lincoln Lawyer was first married to a man called Jeff COlt from 1995 to 1998 before going on to meet and marry her second husband actor John Light.
The pair met in 2005 while they were filming Investigating Sex and married three years later.
Light has starred in WPC 56, Inspector Lewis, Mars, Father Brown and most recently, the BBC drama Showtrial as Adrian Gilligan.
Sadly, their relationship wasn’t to last as they divorced in 2010 but since the following year, she has been in a relationship with Lost In Space and The Peripheral actor JJ Feild.
They share two sons, Caspian, who was born in August 2012, and Raynor, who the couple adopted in 2018.
The family-of-four now live together in a Los Angeles mansion, reportedly worth $2.8million which they purchased four years ago.
The Lincoln Lawyer is available to watch on Netflix.
