A new mum, aged just 32-years-old, tragically lost her life in a golf cart accident at a private members country club, local authorities report.

Mary Beth Blasetti, from Maryland, was fatally injured on Saturday, November 9 when she was ejected from the golf cart she was a passenger in at the Sherwoods Forest Club.

As a result of the crash she suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to a hospital, where she sadly passed away two days later. Blasetti had recently welcomed a baby girl, Mary Katharine, just two months before the incident.

Sandi Blasetti, her mother-in-law told The Daily Mail: “Marybeth was such a beautiful person. Our family is devastated by the tragic loss of her.”

The accident occurred near the private club in Annapolis, Maryland. According to police, the golf cart hit a bump or transitioned surfaces abruptly, causing Blasetti to fall or be thrown out, as per initial findings, reports the Mirror US.

The driver, a 32 year old woman from Crownsville, Maryland, has not been named by the police. Anne Arundel County Police spokesman Marc Limansky said: “Police are not releasing her details pending an ongoing investigation. It is incredibly sad. When police arrived the fire department was already on the scene,” Limansky said. “She had sustained an injury and was airlifted to University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.”

He also mentioned that although the vehicle involved in the accident was a golf cart, the incident is still under investigation by the department’s Traffic Safety Section.

Biasetti, an alumna of the University of West Virginia, worked as an account manager for Golden Hippo, a brand marketing company. A manager at the company described Biasetti as “a superstar” at work.

“But above all else, [she was] a lovely and wonderful person,” Ben Middlemas told the media outlet. Middlemas also highlighted a GoFundMe page set up to assist with funeral expenses, which has gathered nearly $309,717 so far.

“Mary Beth brought joy to so many and had a wide community of friends and family who are devastated by her sudden passing,’ her friend Olivia McKenna wrote. ” her friend Olivia McKenna wrote. “She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.”
