Jake Paul said he didn’t even feel that slap from Mike Tyson and branded the two-time world champion an ‘angry little elf’ – before the real reason for their angry confrontation emerged on social media
The latest boxing crossover bout is set to take over Netflix tonight with YouTube star Paul taking on the 58-year-old, the twice world champion coming out of retirement for the box office bout in Dallas. Love it or hate it, it’s a huge global attraction – so much so one punter paid $2m for a VIP experience at the AT&T Stadium. As you do!
The two weighed in around 7pm local time in Dallas (1am GMT), and Paul, more than 30 years Tyson’s junior, was seen crawling across the stage before rising to face off with the boxing legend. Tyson, who has largely swerved the goading so far, then slapped him on the face and declared ‘the talking’s over’.
Footage has since been shared showing Paul stepping in Tyson’s toe just before the slap, presented as the ‘real reason’ things turned physical. Either way, Paul didn’t exactly take well to it.
He said: “I didn’t even feel it. He’s angry. He’s an angry little elf. Mike Tyson, I thought that was a cute slap buddy, but tomorrow you’re getting knocked the f*** out. I’m f***ing him up. He hits like a b****. It’s personal now. He must die.”
