Cinnamon rolls are a beloved winter dessert, but they can be time-consuming to make. The traditional recipe requires yeast dough and waiting for it to rise, not to mention the filling and icing glaze to drizzle on top.
Any misstep in the ingredients can ruin the texture of the rolls, and unless they’re soft and fluffy, they just don’t hit the spot. There’s nothing quite like freshly baked cinnamon rolls after a long day, especially when paired with a cup of tea.
A recipe has recently gone viral on Facebook after food blogger FitWaffle posted a video. Eloise shared her method for making two-ingredient dough rolls that take just 30 minutes from scratch.
In the caption, Fitwaffle explained that the recipe makes five mini cinnamon rolls. Here’s everything you need.
Ingredients
Dough:
- 180g Greek yoghurt (I used 0% fat)
- 150g self raising flour
Filling:
- 30g unsalted butter, melted
- 3 tbsp light brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Glaze:
- 6 tbsp icing sugar
- 4 tsp milk (any)
Method
For the dough, mix together Greek yoghurt and self-raising flour.
Once that’s done, shape it into a ball and then roll it out into a rectangle. Then, for the filling, mix melted butter, sugar and cinnamon to form a grainy paste, reports the Express.
Spread this over the rolled-out dough. Roll it up tightly, being careful not to break it, and cut off the ends.
Cut it into five equal sections and place the rolls in a dish before baking in the oven at 160C (fan) for 15 minutes or until they look a light golden brown. For more of Eloise’s recipes, follow her on Facebook.
