CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Secondary Schools Activities Commission asked the West Virginia Supreme Court for an expedited ruling in its ongoing cases regarding high school football playoffs, and today the court decided to hear the expedited case.

Council for respondents in the case have until noon Monday to file a response to the WVSSAC petition. Once the deadline has passed, the appeal will be “mature for consideration” by the court, according to a statement this afternoon.

On Nov. 14, the WVSSAC asked the Supreme Court for expedited relief in the hearing after all high school football playoff games in the state were postponed for at least a week.
