AUSTIN, Texas — A viral rideshare service that allows you to have an armed driver is coming to Texas.
BlackWolf, which touts itself as one of the safest riding platforms around, is getting ready to launch in Austin, Dallas and Houston.
The company was started by Kerry KingBrown, who said he was inspired to create a platform that could protect people from being exploited after a friend was sex trafficked. The platform evolved into a rideshare service for everyone with public safety as the main focus.
There are three tiers of rides to choose from, but all three tiers feature a driver with at least four years of law enforcement, military or security sector experience. The “BlackWolf Armed” ride is designed for an extra layer of security by using drivers who hold an active security license in their state.
BlackWolf started in Atlanta in 2023 and quickly grew a following on social media, leading to its rapid expansion. Now the rideshare service operates in 11 cities across three states, with hopes of coming to Texas in early 2025.
Those interested in driving for BlackWolf can apply under the “drive” section of BlackWolf’s website. Drivers will then undergo a thorough screening to make sure they qualify.
BlackWolf also has a list of eligible vehicles and standards for their “BlackWolf Premium” and “BlackWolf Comfort” tiers.
