Cobra Kai season six, part two, is now ready to watch but what is there to know about part three?
Last year, Netflix users received the mixed news that Cobra Kai had been renewed for a final, sixth series, concluding the narrative that has been unfolding since 2018.
Although the season was scheduled to debut in 2023, Cobra Kai was delayed due to last year’s actors and writers’ strikes in Hollywood, which caused disruptions throughout the entertainment industry.
Fortunately, the hiatus ended in July with the release of the first part of season six, and the second part was made available on the streaming platform on Friday, November 15.
As fans eagerly consume the latest instalment of karate-centric drama, many are wondering when the remainder of the series will be released.
Unfortunately, there has been no official announcement regarding the exact release date for the third part of Cobra Kai’s sixth season on Netflix.
The only confirmed detail about the return date is that the story won’t continue until sometime in 2025.
Considering there was approximately a four-month interval between the first and second parts, the third part of this final series could potentially be released in March.
While the initial five series consisted of 10 episodes each, the sixth series has been expanded to an impressive 15 episodes, with each part comprising five episodes.
Cobra Kai co-creator Hayden Schlossberg has opened up about the decision to split the show’s latest season into three parts. Speaking to Today, he revealed: “The fact is, every season of the show up until now, we write in five-episode story arcs.”
He added that they usually have a midseason climax at episode five, which leads to the second half of the season.
Schlossberg explained: “We always think in five-episode chunks, so we’re like, why not just separate it into five episodes, have almost three mini-seasons, like an Act 1, Act 2, Act 3.
“It’s enough to sit down and watch everything. And then a few months later, you get another, and then after that, the same.”
Season six of Cobra Kai is set to see the return of all the main cast members for its third and final part, with the exception of Brandon H. Lee’s character Kwon.
The penultimate episode ended in chaos as the dojos clashed at the tournament but in a dramatic turn of events, John Kreese, portrayed by Martin Kove, lost his knife which was then picked up by Kwon following a scuffle with Iron Dragons’ Axel, played by Patrick Luwis.
While he intended on using it on Alex, Kwon accidentally stabbed himself and fans are now left wondering what Kwon’s death will mean for the future of the dojos.
