Police say they received a call about gunshots at the Espero Apartments just after 4 a.m.
AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department is investigating a homicide in North Austin on Saturday morning.
Officers say it happened at the Espero Apartments on Rutland Drive, off Metric Boulevard and Research Boulevard in North Austin.
Police say they received a call about gunshots just after 4 a.m. Five minutes later, police arrived and found a female victim with gunshot wounds inside one of the apartments.
Officers attempted to save her life, but she died at the scene.
Police do not have a suspect in custody at this time.
This is Austin’s 62nd homicide of the year.
