Strictly Come Dancing duo Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell dazzled once more on Saturday evening as they wowed the audience at the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
In the hopes of progressing to the next round of the hit BBC competition with only eight pairs remaining, they performed an elegant American Smooth to Paul Anka’s ‘Jump’, aiming for a chance to clinch the coveted Glitterball Trophy in the upcoming month.
The judging panel, consisting of Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke, were clearly impressed, rewarding the pair with a high score of 37 out of 40. Craig gave them an 8, Motsi contributed a 9, and Shirley and Anton each presented perfect 10s.
Post-performance, as they received critiques from the judges, Dianne was visibly moved, leading Chris to comfort her with a consoling hug, showcasing their strong partnership.
This moving moment follows closely behind Dianne’s significant health update. The professional dancer from Australia is known for keeping her followers updated with what goes on behind scenes through their regular vlogs, reports the Mirror.
This week’s edition of CHRIS’s DIAnneRIES included a candid revelation as Dianne admitted she’d been feeling under the weather. After fans noticed the absence of their usual Monday video, Chris enquired about it in a clip the duo shared, prompting Dianne to confess: “I wasn’t very well,” to which the comedian added lightheartedly: “I was going to say because we were working really hard.”
Dianne then outlined to Chris that her health took a downturn on Friday, deteriorated further over the weekend rendering Sunday a total loss, and she still hadn’t fully recovered by Monday.
Dianne revealed her struggle leading up to the previous weekend, sharing that she had been fighting a stomach bug and had a tough night on Friday, November 8, but felt improved by Saturday.
The pair have enthralled viewers with their journey on the BBC show so far. Chris, as the competition’s first-ever visually impaired contestant, has inspired and captured the hearts of the nation, emerging as a favourite to secure the title.
