BBC’s popular gameshow The Wheel moved audiences to tears as a contestant shared her touching story before clinching the stunning £100,000 jackpot.
Saturday night saw Michael McIntyre return with a fresh batch of hopefuls and his squad of celebrity experts. The expert lineup featured Danni and Danny Dyer, Oti Mabuse, Ed Gamble, Tracy-Ann Oberman, Jordan North, Big Narstie, and Maisie Adams.
While Sophie, Martin, and Nyarai were all eager to stay in the running, Sophie had scant time on the wheel, leaving Nyarai as the final contender. She tackled the concluding question and emerged victorious, bagging the grand prize.
Overwhelmed by her triumph, Nyarai beckoned her husband to join her, sharing with Michael and the star-studded panel that they had been “childhood sweethearts”, and he has been her unwavering support.
Bringing her husband Jeremiah onto the wheel, she expressed: “He’s supported me all the way! He’s my childhood sweetheart.”, reports the Mirror.
As they celebrated the momentous win, Nyarai reflected on their history, saying, “I was 17, he was 19. I’m 56, he’s going to be 60 soon. The love of my life. He’s supported me all the way,” and expressing her gratitude to the celeb experts with, “Guys thank you so much.”
Radio host Jordan North extended heartfelt congratulations on their life-changing victory, imparting the wisdom: “Good things happen to good people. Remember that!”
Michael exclaimed: “I adore your story, the fact that you’re childhood sweethearts, and we’re absolutely thrilled to award you this life-changing amount tonight. The winner of the wheel, £100,000!”
As the emotional reactions spread among the celebrities, viewers at home were equally moved. One fan tweeted: “Omg I am SOBBING at Nyarai winning £100k.”
Another wrote: “THE HUBBY COMING OUT AND THE SHEER HAPPINESS I CANNOT DEAL WITH THIS,” accompanied by a crying face emoji. A third viewer shared: “So happy for her! £100k is a life-changing amount of money.”
A stunned spectator added: “WOW WOW WOW! ! ! ! Nyarai has DONE IT! ! ! ! She has just won £100k, making her the show’s biggest ever winner!!!”
