PRINCETON, W.Va. -A local bookstore celebrated Thanksgiving early this year with an event to bring children together in the community.
The Hatter’s Bookshop in Princeton held a story time and puppet show on Saturday to celebrate Thanksgiving early. The event included a reading of ’Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving by Dav Pilkey with a puppet show to enhance the story.
The owners of the bookstore said that it was a good turnout. They have previously held a Halloween show similar to this, and they are hoping to continue these types of events for future holidays.
“It’s completely free admission. It’s great for the kids. It’s a good experience for them to kind of interact with others in a safe and welcoming environment… books is what makes this place run as well as the kids and the parents. So definitely just come out, check it out, see if you like it. And if not, you tried something new.” says Rebekah, co-owner of the bookshop.
The kids were treated with some candy, and had the opportunity to interact with the puppets during the show.
