PRINCETON, W. Va. -On Saturday, there was Christmas fun in a hardware store with a DIY project for a younger demographic.
Princeton’s Ace Hardware held their free “Kids Corner Creative Workshop” that let participants make an ornament to take home and put on their Christmas tree.
The hardware store first started holding these workshops back in July after being inspired by a similar event at a Home Depot and noticing a need for family friendly events in our area.
We spoke to the event’s organizer who says this event gives kids a fun Saturday morning activity and an opportunity to unleash their creativity while spending time with their parents.
“We started this event with the mind of just bringing kids together with their parents, having a fun, free activity for them to do. Somewhere safe, somewhere warm, just to bring them in a create something together,” says Andrea Wood, promotions coordinator for Ace Hardware of Princeton & Bluefield.
The kids we spoke to agree.
“The best day ever in my life,” says Silas.
“I loved it,” says Spencer.
These workshops are usually held the third weekend of every month, but they will be taking a break in December for the holidays, starting back again in January.
If you would like to more information about when the next one will be held, Wood says to go to the Princeton ACE Hardware Facebook page or stop by the Princeton store for more information.
