I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! is once again gracing our screens as presenters Ant and Dec welcomed ten fresh campmates into the Australian bush for the nation’s entertainment.
The opening episode saw the celebrities split into two groups of five, with half starting their adventure in a luxury villa and the other assembling on a picturesque beach.
Audiences tuning into the first episodes were left puzzled by ITV’s choice to overlay overly dramatic music.
Social media users took to X, the platform previously known as Twitter, to share their bewilderment, with one viewer commenting: “Whoever is responsible for the music on I’m a celeb are getting too carried away… Why are they playing a dramatic version of the lion sleeps tonight? ? ? “, reports the Express.
Another simply remarked: “The music choice is wild sorry #imacelebrity.”
And another viewer voiced frustration: “WHY DO THEY DO DRAMATIC MUSIC NONE STOP. LIKE INTERSTELLAR OR SOMETHING. STOP IT ! #IMACELEB.”
While the music choices threw some fans, the overall excitement for the show was palpable as one fan enthused: ” I can tell that this year’s series will be so iconic #ImACeleb #ImACelebrity.”
Echoing this sentiment, someone else chimed in: “So excited that IAC is back @antanddec @imacelebrity #imacelebrity.”
In an initial push to earn the position of the first camp leaders, the new arrivals were pitted against each other in a range of trials, all vying for the esteemed victory.
Tulisa and Alan emerged as the winners, selecting Danny and Barry to face the first Bushtucker trial. The duo were placed in underground chambers and tasked with unlocking stars from padlocks.
In typical I’m A Celebrity style, they were joined by 15 snakes while lying on the ground.
During the task, Danny exclaimed that he had a snake in his trousers, leading to an animal handler stepping in to remove the reptile from his pants.
I’m A Celebrity continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX followed by I’m A Celebrity: Unpacked after the main show on ITV2
