Two women have been charged following an incident on-board a Jet2 plane bound for Glasgow after a mid-air emergency was declared.

Officers from Police Scotland were called to Glasgow Airport on Saturday, November 16, following a disturbance on a Jet2 flight from Antalya in Turkey. Flight attendants reportedly had to cope with a medical emergency when another passenger became ill.

It is not known the nature of the incident but on landing in Scotland a 33-year-old and a 50-year-old were arrested and subsequently charged by cops. The pair are due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court later today.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.30pm on Saturday, 16 November, 2024, we were called to a report of a disturbance on board an aircraft bound for Glasgow Airport.

“A 33-year-old woman was arrested and charged in connection. She is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court at a later date and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal. A 50-year-old woman was charged in connection and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”

Jet2 was approached for comment.
