A yellow weather warning has been issued for snow and ice tonight as Scots woke to sub zero temperatures this morning.
The Met Office says an area of snow “may bring disruption” to the central belt from around 7pm tonight till 10am tomorrow morning (Tuesday, November 19).
A yellow weather warning means that you should plan ahead as severe weather is possible over the next few days.
Drivers in Strathclyde are being warned of disruption on roads with some stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel.
There is also a chance that some rural communities could become cut off with power cuts and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, affected.
Pedestrians are being urged to take extra care when out and about to prevent injuries from slips and falls on ice. Untreated pavements and cycle paths may be impassable.
Bus and train services may be delayed or cancelled, with some road closures and longer journey times.
The Met Office said it is “monitoring the developing weather situation”.
