Rylan Clark has loyally stood behind his mate Tulisa Contostavlos amidst concerns she will be the victim of online trolls during her stint on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

The N-Dubz singer made her jungle debut on the ITV show yesterday evening, joining celebrities including Coleen Rooney, GK Barry, Jane Moore, and McFly’s Danny Jones as they embarked on their camping adventure.

While Tulisa was warmly welcomed back to television by many fans after a hiatus—and notably revived her signature Female Boss arm gesture—some cruel viewers were more focused on her appearance with her features now looking very different to how they did in her early twenties, the Mirror reports.

Rylan, the BBC Radio 2 presenter and former X factor star, took to Twitter to caution the public against making crude jokes about appearances, especially considering Tulisa’s health battles in recent years.

His tweet read: “Also before people start going for appearance, Tulisa has been through a lot health wise the last few years so let’s not make s*** jokes about her on twitter yeah x.”

This show of support isn’t new from Rylan; he’s been championing Tulisa ever since her participation in the 2024 series of I’m A Celebrity was confirmed.

Upon the announcement, Tulisa posted about her jungle adventure on Instagram, prompting encouragement from Rylan and inviting followers to wish her luck: “The news is out! I’m off to the jungle. Wish me luck @itvxofficial @imacelebrity #ImACeleb.”

Pop singer and former N-Dubz member, best known for leading Little Mix to X Factor victory in 2011, Tulisa, has received support from Rylan, a fellow X Factor contestant from 2012. Rylan quickly showed his support for the new jungle contestant by reposting Tulisa’s announcement on his Instagram and wishing her “Good luck xxx.”

Tulisa, who stepped down from the X Factor judging panel the year after Rylan’s appearance, stated: “If me being my authentic self connects with people in a mass way, then it must mean I’m doing something right in life.

“But I am not going to go looking for it. This isn’t a career move for me either. I will always go back to N-Dubz and this is a one-off experience,” before heading to Australia.

The London-born singer compared her upcoming stint on the show to an epic adventure, saying: “I am like Frodo Baggins on an unexpected journey. I feel really adventurous this year and the place I am now in, I want to do things that take me out of my comfort zone.

“I have always said I wouldn’t do this show in the past, as there are things that have terrified me. But the person I am now, I want to throw caution to the wind.”
