A former bus driver has revealed some of the most jaw-dropping things she witnessed while on duty, including passengers engaging in sexual activity.
Public transport might be considered a mundane part of daily life, but Leeds-based viral sensation Charmane Isabella, who boasts 1.2million followers on TikTok, claims there’s much more to the job than meets the eye, as drivers frequently encounter challenging situations.
In a recent TikTok post aimed at cautioning commuters, Charmane disclosed that drivers have a clear view of everything that happens on the bus, recounting multiple instances where she saw individuals having sex at the back of the bus.

She explained: “As an ex bus driver of seven years I can confirm the back of the bus is where people do the deed…and the back of the bus is a CCTV hotspot and it’s so awkward because the driver can see you bobbing up and down on someone’s lap.”
The video sparked a flurry of comments, with one user saying: “I couldn’t be a bus driver I’d shout the people doing the deed can you stop and embarrass them.”
Another said: “Literally why I never want to go on public transport.” A third said: “Never sitting at the back of the bus again ever. I’ll sit with the elderly at the front and help with their shopping.”
That’s not the only shocking sight she encountered as a bus driver. She previously recounted an incident in Leeds where her bus was surrounded by police vehicles.
The officers demanded she turn off her engine and instructed everyone to stay calm – leaving her worried that she was in trouble. Some officers ascended to the second level, and descended with a young lad who had a “big a** knife” on board, Charmane revealed.
She also highlighted the gruelling working hours of a bus driver; often clocking in 13-hour days. However, she also pointed out the perks of the job such as interacting with people, driving around all day, exploring different places and enjoying the sunrise during early shifts.
