Rebekah Vardy has finally spoken out about Coleen Rooney’s appearance on ‘I’m A Celebrity’.
Shortly after Coleen entered the jungle, hosts Ant and Dec couldn’t resist a cheeky nod to the notorious ‘Wagatha Christie’ legal spat between Rebekah and Coleen.
In Rebekah’s column covering the current series of the popular ITV show, she gleefully commented on Coleen’s performance in her first task, remarking: “Coleen sank in the river twice. It’s the gift that keeps on giving.”
She didn’t shy away from expressing her thoughts on Tulisa either, stating: “Tulisa. Oh, my God. I hardly recognise her, but I love her. She’s fierce, she looks so determined and she reminds me a bit of how I was in there. You know, I really, really wanted to go in and give it all.”
She concluded her piece in The Sun with high praise for Tulisa’s competitive nature: “And, you know, nothing really fazed me in there. But she’s very, very competitive as well, which is great.”
In the opening moments of Sunday’s show, presenter Dec made a quip about Coleen, joking: “It will be nice for her to face trial that doesn’t involve Rebekah Vardy.”
The jibe referenced the high-profile wrangle between the two footballers’ wives, which saw them embroiled in court action. Rebekah herself appeared on ‘I’m A Celebrity’ in 2017, reports the Mirror.
Coleen,38, infamously levelled accusations at Rebekah, claiming she leaked stories to the Sun—an accusation that led to Rebekah initiating a much-discussed defamation lawsuit. However, in July of 2022, a judge in the High Court ruled that Coleen’s claims were “substantially true”.
This isn’t the first time Rebekah has seemingly referenced their highly publicised feud.
When Coleen entered the I’m a Celebrity jungle, Rebekah posted a photo of herself relaxing in a pink bikini, captioning it: “The feeling when you are living rent free in people’s heads.”
She accompanied the post with a laugh-crying emoji and a winking emoji. Later, Rebekah shared a video of Donald Trump saying: “Let them hate, let them doubt you, let them criticise because the truth is the more they throw at you, the stronger you become. The path to success is never without resistance and hate.”
Rebekah added an alarm clock emoji to the post.
In response to whether she would watch Coleen on I’m a Celebrity, Rebekah previously stated: “Absolutely, we’ll be watching avidly. Everyone seems to think I have this massive problem with Coleen going into the jungle. But do you know what? If you want to fan the fire, the flames are going to get higher. I wasn’t going to carry on talking about this, I had no intention of talking about it, but she clearly can’t let it go.”
Despite facing a hefty legal bill, cash seems to be no issue as she also said she’d willingly drop all and jet off “on the plane now” to join the camp with Coleen. She proclaimed: “One hundred per cent, I’d say yes if they asked me. Get me on the plane now. Over to you, ITV.”
