A 65-year-old man loading cargo into the back of a truck in Brooklyn died when he lost his balance and stumbled into the path of a tractor-trailer, police said Monday.

Shumi Izjaguev was loading a box truck on Columbia St. near the Erie Basin in Red Hook when he fell into the roadway and was struck by the driver.

Medics rushed Izjaguev to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Cops said the driver did not stop. It was unclear if the driver knew the truck had struck someone.

There have been no arrests. The victim lived in Kensington according to cops.

Izjaguev’s death is being investigated by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad.
