AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect in connection with a deadly hit-and-run in North Austin in August.

The incident happened in the 10800 block of North Lamar Boulevard, just south of Braker Lane, on Sunday, Aug. 4.

Police said officers responded to a crash between a car and a pedestrian around 2:08 a.m. The pedestrian, later identified as 49-year-old Sauvan Pham, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver of the car left the scene immediately and did not stop to render aid. Police said the suspect vehicle headed north on North Lamar Boulevard. The vehicle is described as a dark-colored sedan.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact APD at 512-974-8111 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 512-472-8477 or by visiting austincrimestoppers.org. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for any information that leads to an arrest.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 49th fatal crash of 2024.
