Departing Rangers chief Creag Robertson is considering an offer to work with James Bisgrove again.
He announced earlier this month that he was leaving his role as director of football operations at Ibrox. Robertson is now mulling over an approach to move to Al-Qadsiah. Bisgrove is currently chief executive with the Saudi club and wants to work with Robertson again. Bisgrove controversially left Ibrox in the summer, leaving behind a major issue which forced the club to play their early home games at Ibrox.
Robertson’s departure has set alarm bells ringing as they are now without a number of key positions with Nils Koppen announced as technical director, moving up from the position of head of recruitment. Chairman John Bennett has stepped down for health reasons with John Gilligan stepping in as interim. They are now looking for a long-term appointment.
Rangers have still to replace Bisgrove as chief executive and they have been working without an official sporting director since Ross Wilson left for Nottingham Forest but Koppen has ben promoted to that role.
Robertson has since added to that list of growing vacancies. He first moved from Falkirk to Rangers back in 2016. Robertson went in as head of education and business before he stepped up to his last position in June 2023.
Bisgrove isn’t the only Scot at Al-Qadsiah, as former Dundee United boss Tam Courts is now a coach there. Former Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is also out in Saudi, where he is in charge of Al-Ettifaq.
