Aldi has issued a warning to customers, urging them to claim a “full refund” for a popular item that “may present a health risk”. The budget retailer said it has withdrawn the frozen product from sale.

Safety notices advise shoppers that an Aldi supplier is “recalling Let’s Party Vegetable Bao Buns due to an error meaning some products contain an undeclared allergen (sesame) as well as duck meat which is not listed on the packaging.” The brand added: “This may present a health risk to anyone with a sesame allergy.”

Items are recalled for various reasons, and the Food Standards Agency (FSA) also regularly issues alerts. Regarding Aldi’s Let’s Party Vegetable Bao Buns, the FSA further clarified: “Aldi is recalling the above product from customers and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.”
