An expert has revealed the potential earnings of this year’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! stars, and the figures are staggering.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is notorious for its gruelling challenges and limited food options. However, one thing is certain: the celebrities aren’t doing it for free. An expert has disclosed the eye-watering sums that this year’s I’m A Celeb participants could earn for their time in the Australian jungle.
The line-up includes Coleen Rooney, McFly’s Danny Jones, N-Dubz singer Tulisa, Coronation Street’s Alan Halsall, TikTok star GK Barry and Melvin Odoom. While the popular ITV show will undoubtedly provide a series of unforgettable moments, the celebrities are also there to face terrifying Bushtucker trials and navigate life in the wilderness.
Given the mental and physical challenges, it’s one of the toughest reality TV shows to participate in. Therefore, it’s not surprising that the celebrities are compensated for their time in Australia. This year, it’s believed that the highest-paid contestant ever will be featured, with a fee well into the millions, reports OK!.
No Strings Public Relations founder Riley Gardiner has made insights into the potential earnings of stars on this year’s I’m A Celeb. He told OK: “The fee celebs get paid obviously depend heavily on public interest, recent media relevance, and the unique appeal they’ll bring to the jungle plus how good they are at negotiating.”
A breakdown of the estimated figures, courtesy of Riley, shows a range from the modest to the staggering.
Hitting the lower end of the scale, radio broadcaster Dean McCullough is thought to rake in between £40,000 to £60,000. Riley notes: “While he’s not a household name yet, he’s personable and could bring a light-hearted energy to the group. A lower fee might be realistic, but he could surprise everyone with his charisma.”
Television and radio personality Melvin Odoom is set to nab a handsome sum estimated between £60,000 to £90,000. Meanwhile ex-boxing champion Barry McGuigan is expected to bag between a whopping £70,000 to £100,000.
Loose Women star Jane Moore might pocket between £80,000 and £120,000 for her time in the jungle. The expert highlighted that the ITV star is sharp, outspoken and is no stranger to a wide audience.
He said: “Her journalist’s edge would be interesting in the jungle, where she could bring a bit of grit and plenty of opinions, which could keep things lively.”
Coronation Street’s Alan Halsall could be looking at a cheque ranging from £100,000 to £150,000 as soap stars are often favourites from the get-go, due to their fanbase. Riley stated the actor is a familiar face to many and his down-to-earth vibe will make him a strong campmate..
Although she’s new to fame, TikTok star GK Barry, better known as Grace Keeling, might command up to £100,000 to £150,000. Riley’s added: “Social media stars bring younger audiences, which is a huge asset for the show. GK Barry’s reach on TikTok is significant, and with her humour and relatability, she’d likely become an instant fan favourite.”
Danny Jones from McFly is also predicted to earn around £100,000 to £150,000 for his stint, already becoming the bookies favourite to win. Similarly, former Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse could welcome around £100,000 to £200,000 for appearing in the show.
N-Dubz star Tulisa Contostavlos has been estimated to secure a significant amount of cash. Riley said it could be from £150,000 to £200,000, considering her music career and history as an X Factor judge. However, it’s Coleen Rooney who is expected to earn the most money from starring in the show.
Initially, it was believed the 38-year-old would earn an eye-watering amount £1.5 million. However, Riley predicts that it might lower.
He shared: “She’s riding a wave of media interest with the whole ‘Wagatha Christie’ saga, so the show would need to dig deep into its pockets to bring her in – think £500,000 to £600,000, at least.”
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! continues weeknights on ITV from 9pm.
